Lauren and I joined our friends Chris & Amanda for our first actual 'bike riding event,' the Midnight Classic 2010. The tour consisted of 17 miles throughout mid-town Memphis, with intersections blocked of traffic by Memphis P.D. I rode my Marin mountain bike and Lauren borrowed a 50's Schwinn single gear from Chris's dad. Chris & Amanda, as well as Chris's dad & lady (I'm still uncertain of their relationship status, sorry!) both rode original 50's Schwinn tandem bikes! We kept a pretty even, steady pace of 9-15mph throughout the entire trip, with only one stop about half-way, which I have to say was a major accomplishment for everyone besides me on these 60 year old bicycles!!
